Test/QA Engineer

This individual will be a critical member of the software development team to design, develop, and document formal software test procedures and test environments for verification of the core platform and user interfaces for CATAMARAN Enterprise RFID and Mobility software. Proactively anticipates end-user scenarios and issues; and communicate with Development and Product teams.

Qualified applicants will have 3+ years of formal software testing experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• This individual will be responsible for automating, executing, and validating regression, release, and installation tests of the various products.
• He/she will work closely with the development engineers to understand the product requirements and to document, track, and resolve testing issues.
• Scope work-load; create detailed test schedules, and track and report status to ensure on-time delivery of final test results. Work closely development team dependencies and deadlines.
• Work proactively with development team and coworkers to ensure completeness and accuracy of test scenarios.

Qualifications:

• This position requires extensive hands-on of experience in formal software product testing (test planning, requirements analysis, test automation, test execution), strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with programming and scripting required.
• Knowledge of networking systems/protocols and databases a plus.
• Requires understanding of and ability to address and balance differing stakeholders needs - Customers, Support, and Development department. Strong team orientation - flexible, easy-to-work-with attitude.
• High degree of test automation experience with ability to recommend and setup an automation test environment in-house.
• High volume, performance critical testing and fine tuning experience.
• Understanding of full software development lifecycle.
