Abeezar S. Tyebji
Chief Executive Officer
Abeezar Tyebji founded Shipcom in 1997 and has built Shipcom into
a leading provider of RFID and enterprise mobility software solutions.
Mr. Tyebji brings to Shipcom over 10 years of experience in ERP
software. He is an expert in the field of Radio Frequency Data Collection
integration into ERP systems. Prior to founding Shipcom, Mr. Tyebji
was an executive at Intermec/Unova. He is a past President of Jaycees
and an officer of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
At present, he teaches a course "Trends in Technology"
at the University of Houston Executive MBA program and is a Board
Member of the University of Houston College of Technology. Currently
he is on the Executive Board of the South Asian Chamber of Commerce
and is a founding Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE),
an organization founded in Silicon Valley of prominent information
Technology entrepreneurs and corporate executives. Mr. Tyebji was
recognized by Inc. Magazine as an emerging entrepreneur in 1999.
In March 2000 he was invited by the White House, and accompanied
President Clinton as an official delegate on his historic trip to
India. He was a finalist for the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award
from Ernst and Young in 2002. Mr. Tyebji holds a M.S. in Industrial
Science, an MBA in international business and a BS in Industrial
Science, all from the University of Houston.
John C. Shoemaker
President
John Shoemaker joined Shipcom with a long career in providing solutions for the enterprise, the last ten years of which was focused on establishing markets for emerging RFID technologies and application software solutions. As President, he is responsible for the growth strategy of Shipcom with an outward focus on markets, sales, partnerships and customers. Prior to joining Shipcom, he was Senior Vice President of Sales at Symbol as a result of the acquisition of Matrics, Inc., where he acted in the role of Senior Vice President for Corporate Development. At Matrics he was able to secure three showcase RFID based contracts with McCarran International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and as a technical partner with Raytheon on Accenture's team managing the US VISIT Program. Also, he worked closely with the DHS TSA and won a number of contracts to pilot RFID in airports around the world to win adoption of passive, UHF RFID for aviation worldwide by IATA. Prior to Matrics, he has held executive positions for a variety of companies, including: TransCore; Intermec/Amtech; BBN, Inc.; Computer Indentics; and several start up firms. A well-known speaker for industry events and colleges, he is also a RFID consulting member of the Round Table Group, Inc., and former consultant to Forstmann Co, a private equity firm, he has a MBA from Suffolk University in Boston and a BBA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. As a former officer in the U.S. Army, he was awarded several medals for valor on the battlefield and the Purple Heart.
Mustafa
M. Tyebbhoy
Vice President & General Manager
Mustafa Tyebbhoy joined the Company in 1999 and is now the Vice
President & General Manager. He currently manages the day-to-day
operations and was responsible for signing the strategic agreement
with Hewlett-Packard. Prior to joining Shipcom, he headed a 20-person
sales team at Jeraisy Computer and Communications Services, the
largest systems integrator in Saudi Arabia with revenues exceeding
$1 billion. He is an expert in wireless and networking technologies.
Prior to Jeraisy, Mr. Tyebbhoy was with HCL, then the largest
IT company in India. Mr. Tyebbhoy is also a Charter member of
TiE. Mr. Tyebbhoy has a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics
and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute
of Technology.
Matthijs Uijterschout
Vice President - Operations
Matthijs Uijterschout joined the Company in 2000,
as the Vice President of Operations. He currently manages all
customer projects and has brought to Shipcom the best practices
and methods from his previous employment. Prior to joining Shipcom,
he was with Philips Consumer Electronics for 20 years. His most
recent position with Philips Consumer Electronics was as a Global
Business Information Manager. Mr. Uijterschout has a M.S. degree
in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University Twente
in the Netherlands.
Mustafa Dohadwala
Chief Software Architect
Mustafa Dohadwala joined Shipcom in 1999 as Senior Software Engineer
of Product Development, and currently is the Chief Architect.
During his employment at the Company, he helped develop Shipcom's
software services experience into a rapid deployment framework.
From 1997 until he joined Shipcom, he served as the Project Manager
at Celestica Inc. At Celestica, he was responsible for software
development, infrastructure development, and production deployment
for Manufacturing Execution and Inventory Control systems. Prior
to Celestica, Mr. Dohadwala headed a software consultancy/development
company providing solutions to customers in various business sectors
and functional areas. Mr. Dohadwala has a degree in Computer Science
from University of Houston.
Quresh Goga
Managing Director – Middle East, Asia, Africa & Australia
Quresh Goga was the Regional Director - Gulf, for Computer Associates Middle East. He was responsible for providing solutions and services for the management of IT infrastructure, business information and application development. During his career at Computer Associates, Quresh had been instrumental in driving the acquisition of major enterprise management and service delivery projects with the largest Banks, Oil & Gas, Airlines, Telecom Companies in the Middle East. Offering 24 years experience in the Information Technology arena with corporations like Computer Associates, Wipro and Sify, Quresh has focused on infrastructure management, security management, storage management and IT services consulting. In his earlier roles, Quresh served as a Divisional Manager for the sole Telxon (later on acquired by Symbol Technologies) distributor in Saudi Arabia, where he was responsible for independently setting-up a new IT business division to sell and support integrated solutions built around portable computer systems, auto-ID/RF-ID systems and application specific software. While working for nearly a decade at Wipro, India, Quresh consolidated his technical foundation with system support and software development, and moved into sales, marketing and business development. Quresh holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.
Samir Naessany
Senior Vice President - Europe Operations
Samir Naessany, 54, is a graduate from the French Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees. He holds a Master of Science from the University of Berkeley, California. He joined Alcatel in March 1996 to develop the project finance activity on a worldwide scale. He was then appointed Deputy CFO. Effective March, 2005 he joined the Private Communications Group, as Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development to address and develop Alcatel's position in all communications related markets outside Telecom Carriers. Before joining Alcatel, he was Director of Project Finance at BNP. He started his career in the French Ministère de l'Equipement et des Transports, where he held various positions (he was head of the French Railroad Department between 1984 and 1987). Adil Zainulbhai
Adil Zainulbhai is the Chairman of the Board of Advisors. He currently
heads McKinsey's operations in India. He has been with McKinsey
for 20 years, working in various industries, but primarily focused
on the telecommunications and wireless space. Most recently, he
has worked extensively with large companies developing telecom
strategies and in helping venture funded startups within the telecommunications
and wireless industries. Mr. Zainulbhai has an MBA from Harvard
Business School and a Bachelor of Technology, with distinction,
in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Michael Ohanian
Michael Ohanian joined the Board of Advisors in 2000. He is the
President Emeritus of Intermec Technologies, the world's largest
supplier of barcode data collection products and services for
the industrial markets. Prior to his employment at Intermec, Mr.
Ohanian was the VP of Electronic Systems at Martin Marrietta Corporation.
He is a leader in B2B E-Commerce, wireless, RFID, barcode data
collection, Web, and SAP technologies, both domestically and internationally.
Nitin Mehta
Nitin Mehta is an active private investor in Silicon Valley. Through
his merchant banking and investment company, Mehta & Company,
Mr. Mehta has been able to leverage his 35+ years of active investing.
Some of his investments include: Royal Viking Cruise Line, Handi-Kup,
Pyramid Health Group, QuadraMed. Prior to starting Mehta &
Company, Mr. Mehta was a general partner with the investment and
venture capital firm Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners
(now LightSpeed Venture Partners). Prior to Weiss Peck & Greer,
he was with the consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. Mr. Mehta
has a Doctorate in business policy from Harvard Business School,
and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin and a BSME degree,
summa cum laude from S.D. Tech.
Hendrik Sangen
Hendrik Sangen joined the Board of Advisors in 2000. He is the
chief executive officer of McBergerac, a management consulting
firm, and is also a professor of Infonomics and New Media at
Hogeschool Zuyd in Maastricht, Heerlen and Sittard in the
Netherlands.
Mr. Sangen also holds executive positions in a number of companies.
From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Sangen was the Chief Information Officer
for Philips Consumer Electronics in The Netherlands, the largest
product unit of Philips. At Philips Consumer Electronics, he was
responsible for the IT policy and strategy for all business information
systems of Philips Consumers Electronics worldwide. Mr. Sangen
has a degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University
Utrecht.
Tamim Shipchandler
Tamim Shipchandler is Vice President – Strategic Development at
Cyber Group, Inc. At Cyber Group, Mr. Shipchandler is responsible
for Cyber Group's major clients, strategic direction and new business
initiatives. He was previously a managing consultant in EDS' digital
value chain practice. Prior to EDS, Mr. Shipchandler was with
Texas Instruments in their consumer, computer, defense, and semiconductor
businesses. Mr. Shipchandler has Master degrees in computer systems
engineering and business administration.
Saleh Shipchandler
Founder of Shipco Group of Companies and built many companies in his 50 year career. A food technologist by profession he has built many canning, dehydration, cookie and confectionary companies; more recently the Shipco Foods and Shipco Biscuits. Shipcom Wireless was formerly known as Shipco Wireless and took the name from the Shipco Group when founded. Mr. Shipchandler sits on many corporate boards and is part of community outreach activities. Currently Mr. Shipchandler is the President of the Rotary Club of Hyderabad (main) in the centenary year. He has been Vice President National Association of Bakery Industry and board of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers' of commerce and Industry. He is also Operating Trustee of Public Charitable Trust and Secretary of a School and actively involved running and developing school
