Shipcom Continues to Surpass Milestones for Customer Wins
New Customers, Strategic Partners and Innovative Solutions Fuel Growth
HOUSTON, Texas – February 29, 2008 – Shipcom Wireless Inc., a leading global provider of RFID and Mobility solutions that help companies ensure efficient supply chains through workflow simplification and providing operational visibility today announced it has surpassed a significant milestone with the signing of its 250th install, Zachry Construction Corporation, and 10 net new wins during the last quarter.
Over the past 83 years, Zachry has completed 1,000 heavy construction projects including more than 800 miles of paved roadway, 30 international projects, and 1,500 telecommunications projects. These mega projects include petrochemical, refining, power generation, metals, and cement industries. Shipcom’s solution provides Zachry with visibility and coordination of assets, people and materials at the job sites and oil rigs when access to enterprise data is limited or disconnected.
This solution essentially displays corporate data in the “Palm of the workers hand” via ruggedized mobile devices and leverages technologies such as RFID and barcode. This is slated to be deployed at hundreds of Zachary’s facilities worldwide. At this client, Shipcom composite applications and work flow simplification engine extends the Oracle E-Business suite to job sites, construction yards and oil rigs when limited connectivity is a challenge.
“Last year was the culmination of a very pivotal year for the company's growth," said Abeezar Tyebji, CEO of Shipcom Wireless Inc. "during the year, we acquired substantial new customers led by strategic partnership with Oracle, via the Oil & Gas vertical. These successes are now being replicated in other industry such as Aviation, Telecom and Life Sciences.”
Notable recent wins include:
Energy sector: Deployments include a RFID enabled real-time asset monitoring, refinery turnarounds, disconnected offshore rig operations and safety & security solutions for the world largest oil producer and several other companies engaged in Oil & Gas, petrochemical and utilities businesses.
Life Science: Deployments of consignment inventory, sales force automation, FDA product recalls, genealogies and e-pedigree, patient and resident identification & tracking for several companies in the area of medical devices, pharmaceutical and hospitals.
Telecom: Complete RFID asset visibility solution increasing operation efficiency for two major Telecom organizations in the application areas of forward deployment, reverse logistics, field services, work order management, and Telecom asset tracking.
Aviation: Engagement in a pilot with worldwide Airport Authorities and global Airlines providing baggage visibility, cargo & container tracking, safety & security, facilities management and repair & overhauls solutions.
Leveraging its integrated supply chain execution software solutions, Shipcom has built a customer base of Fortune 1000 customers, including Aramco, BASF, Beckman Coulter, British American Tobacco, Boston Scientific, DaimlerChrysler, General Electric, Hasbro, Hewlett-Packard, Ingram Micro, Infineon, John Deere, Medtronic, NVIDIA, Philips, Qatar Fertilizers, Qatar Petroleum, RasGas Qatar, Reliance Industries India, Samsung, Sempra Energy, Staples, Shell Oil, Tatung, Warner Brothers and Zachary Construction.
