Build/Release Engineer


We are looking for an intermediate level engineer, with solid background in Deployment tools, SCM tools, and Build/Release processes. Proactively anticipates requirements; and communicate with Product, and Development team.

Qualified applicants will have 4+ years of creating installs, SCM management, Build/Release processes and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Administering and maintaining development tools and systems, including source code management tools (e.g. VSS).
  • Managing multiple ongoing builds, including full releases as well as patches for multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with Graphics Manager and Illustrators to use supporting illustrations with deployment tools.
  • Work proactively with Development and Quality Assurance to ensure completeness and accuracy of releases, including maintenance of release notes and installation guides.
  • Documenting build/release processes and procedures; track and resolve deployment defects.
  • Self starter with high level of initiative and motivation, Initiates evaluations of alternative technologies, tools, and methods.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand product engineering specifications and research content for user-level documentation and to collaborate with development teams is required.
  • 4+ years of experience using deployment tools (e.g. Install shield, Wise, etc.).
  • Highly technical hands on role; will be expected to be able to create scripts, manage systems used for build and release, etc.
  • Experienced with multiple SCM tools (have administered such tools).
  • Experience with build environments on multiple platforms (Windows a must, UNIX and cross platform experience highly desirable).
  • Experience with and understanding of localization processes, project implications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision. Dedicated, self-managing professional who will work additional time if required to meet strict project requirements and deadlines.
  • Evidence of strong team player in small, dynamic engineering team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
