Shipcom’s Transportation & Aviation Practice is staffed by individuals with experience in Airport/Airline System Design, Development, Integration and Support. Shipcom’s Aviation Consultancy experience includes, but is not limited to Passenger Boarding Bridge Commissioning, United States Transportation Security Administration & Department of Homeland Security RFID Pilot Management, electromagnetic compatibility assessments and Test, Evaluation, Research & Development of communications, advanced sensors, antennas, RFID and other security systems for the U.S. Government and international/commercial transportation entities.
Using Shipcom’s experience and knowledge base of contacts at major Airports throughout the United States Shipcom has gained an in-depth and clear understanding of various Airport systems and their configuration ranging from Apron Control Tower systems, Baggage Handling Systems, Airport Vehicle Tracking systems, Parking Management systems, Computerized Maintenance Management systems, Access Control systems and Airport Information Technology systems.
Shipcom’s unique experience as Airport System Design Consultants, Project Quality Control Manager, Airport System Commissioning Manager, IT Activation Manager and Project Manager, while providing services to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and McCarran International Airport, positions Shipcom as a qualified candidate to successfully execute and complete the implementation of a global ULD Management System. Shipcom’s areas of Expertise include system integration for various airport systems (Baggage Sortation System, Baggage Reconciliation System, Apron Control Tower, Flight Information Display System), Simulation and Test Case development and Commissioning plan & protocols development.
Members of the Shipcom Aviation team have supported a dozen pilots at airports around the world with the (Department of Homeland Security) DHS/ Transportation Security Administration (TSA) / Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for implementing passive, UHF RFID for aviation in both baggage and cargo applications and has worked with Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, American Airlines, and a number of airports worldwide from Beijing to Tokyo to Atlanta to Dallas to Amsterdam to Nairobi and others. The data from the TSA sponsored pilots was made available to support IATA’s efforts to make passive, UHF RFID the worldwide recommended practice for aviation.
