Interface Developer

Role: Interface Developer

Location: Houston, TX

The role of Interface developer is to act as Liaison between Shipcom and Hardware vendor to develop interfaces to satisfy a business process. This includes developing specifications for data interactions, validating data to ensure business process requirements are met, developing interfaces using HL7 and/or web services, and ensuring that the interface delivered are thought through completely keeping end product in sight.

Major Areas of Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Analyze business requirements to determine interfaces required and produce technical requirements and design specifications for the interface(s)
  • Participate throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure conformance to design, overall integration architectural compliance and infrastructure coordination and preparation
  • Develop interfaces using CATAMARAN development suite
  • Develop interfaces using  Web services and HL7
  • Manage all aspects of system/ performance testing, infrastructure requirements, planning and implementation
  • General consulting skills, including: team facilitation, business case development, etc.
  • Personal accountability for customer and team success

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • 3+ years of experience as an interface developer
  • 5+ years of experience with relational databases (SQL Server/Oracle/DB2 etc.)
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries
  • Experience with creating UI tests, unit test frameworks, and stress testing strategies
  • Asset/Inventory/supply chain management is important; exposure to healthcare supply chain is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to engage & negotiate with the vendor and define state of the art interface

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel

Education:

  • Computer Science, Engineering or Business administration Degree is required
